The UK is currently beaming with sunshine and with the season of weddings upon us, why not embrace wearing Asian attire which is bold, bright and quirky! Floral patterns is here to stay again this season! We can’t get enough of it, so why not take it to the next level? So we did with our latest shoot with none other than Surendri by Yogesh Chaudhary, who encompass that retro summer dosage we needed from their Sunflower collection! Check out below how we turned up the summer heat that bit more thanks to The Silk Closet.

This particular flower printed sari from the Surendri by Yogesh Chaudhary Sunflower collection is a “ready made” sari, so you just simply tie it around your waist as a skirt and place over the pallu to the style you want! As the saying goes, it was easy peasy lemon squeezy! The print design is fabulous with funky red panels and dainty sunflowers on the fuschia pink backdrop. In terms of the choice of pallu styling, we went with the classic Nivi style, but opened up the pallu to really show off the fun frilly border which you will see below. The sari has got strings as seen above which can be used to tie around your mid-waist, which creates an ever modern touch and accentuate your curves; see the look here. In this look I tied this to the side to create that extra dimension to the outfit. To pair up with this piece, this perfect LoveToBag clutch (embroidery and colour was on point!) and a pair of lac/meenakari earrings – adding a little bit tradition to contrast with the sari.

Where can you wear this? This look is perfect for a family/friend guest to a Mehndi ceremony. I had so much fun shooting in this piece, I felt like I was back to Bollywood in the 1970’s!
