Okay so just a heads up… I was not actually on a date when encountering this wondrous spot. The initial place I really wanted to have coffee at was not far from The Boat At Richmond Bridge, it is called The Tides Table, but it was unfortunately closed (will attempt a visit there again soon!).
However, luckily we walked further up by Richmond Bridge, where we pleasantly found a stationary boat with people dining and drinking on the top deck. We got to find out it is actually a cafe/bar restaurant rather than your conventional fine-dining restaurant on a boat. It is a marvelous concept and delightful and casual place to go – perfect for that first date (neither over the top nor average); to have coffee on a boat for a first date is not too shabby either.

Unfortunately I did not get any food from here, but opted for coffees (cappuccino and latte), which were lovely. The next time I am there, I will definitely grab some food (watch this space). The surrounding views look lovely at night… however this place does close really early on weekdays – so bare that in mind if you do visit.

Overall the ambiance and views are lovely in the evening and would be a great place to have breakfast/brunch or late afternoon/early evening coffee for a first casual date.
If you do venture to The Boat At Richmond Bridge – post us some images on Facebook or Tweet us, we would love to know whether this date spot was a success!
