The prestigious 16th annual Asian Achievers Awards took place on Friday 16th September at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, on Park Lane, hosted by Cosmopolitan UK editor, Farrah Storr and actor Nitin Ganatra. The evening announced this year’s commendable winners, who included Manjit Gill, who runs a social enterprise that works tirelessly for women’s causes in India and Africa and Paralympian, Ryan Raghoo, a long jumper who suffers from cerebral palsy.

The evening raised an incredible £180,000 for their charity partner Indian Ocean Disaster Relief, which was founded in early 2005 following the devastating tsunami on Boxing Day 2004. Mr CB Patel, Publisher/Editor of ABPL Group says: “I would like to send a wholehearted congratulations to all the winners of the Asian Achievers Awards, now in our 16th year. As in years gone by, the winners are exemplary individuals who not only have excelled in their chosen professions, but also are incredible role models who work for social justice, equality and those less fortunate. It makes me very proud to give these people a platform to be recognised for their hard work and remarkable contributions to society and the community.”

Farrah Storr, co-host for the evening said: “I’m delighted to be here this evening at The Asian Achievers Awards, because I think awards like this are so crucial, particularly for setting role models for young people and some of the shortlisted candidates and winners are exceptional. I think without awards like this people wouldn’t really have anything to look or aspire to, so I’m absolutely thrilled to be a part of it this evening.”
