Faisana is a unique and high fashion retail concept, which established in 2014 with a vision to connect consumers in the UK to the luxury household designer names in the South Asian fashion landscape. Faisana is driven by the fashion masterminds Aisha Tabani Chowdhry, Aamna Lakhany and Radhika Hasan. They curate in some of the leading design talents from India and Pakistan – such as Umar Sayeed, Sania Maskatiya and Nida Azwer, Tarun Tahiliani, Satya Paul, Raakesh Agarvwal and Anita Dongre; most of whom are represented exclusively in the UK by Faisana.

I met the lovely founders this year and it is great to see such passion behind their brand and the fashion they offer. Their concept is fantastic and like no other, as they offer a variety of high calibre designs in a personalised service and through pop-up style events. Faisana have a great understanding of the needs of the South Asian audience in the UK.
The UK welcomed a first of its kind entry in the South Asian fashion scene back in May 2014 at London’s Mayfair Hotel, when Faisana: Fashion Weekend was crafted for the first time, which showcased three of India and three of Pakistan’s most celebrated designers – Anita Dongre, Rina Dhaka and Bhairavi Jaikishan, Umar Sayeed, Nida Azwer and Sania Maskatiya on one international platform.

I had the pleasure to assist at their Diwali & Eid Extravaganza Event held at the stunning Four Seasons Hotel in Mayfair. The event bought together an array of Asian designer fashion, jewellery, accessories and homeware under one roof. These included designers such as Maheen Karim, Ashish N Soni and Raakesh Agarvwal, and that day I definitely fell head over heels on Maheen Karim’s collection, which was bursting with variety and colours. There was great variations of styles and colours in all the designers’ collections, which ensured it catered for all needs and occasions for attendees.

I am excited about what Faisana have in store for 2015. I am sure there will be plenty more phenomenal South Asian designer fashion showcased in London. Watch this space for more upcoming blog posts on Faisana.
