Quirky Indian Fashion Inspiration Lookbook

Need a change in your Desi wardrobe this year and want something quirky? Don’t worry we have got it covered for you! We have pulled together two looks to fire start your wardrobe. These looks are unconventional…it’s time to be rebellious 😉

This first look features a silk sari by Radio Rani, which illustrates the print of a cute Raja and Rani. This sari narrates the story, ‘Ek tha raja, ek thi rani, dono mil gaye, khatm kahani!’. This soft and silky number incorporates multiple colours, including deep red, blue, green and black. Best of all we love how there are different printed designs on this single piece; don’t be afraid to wear sarees with multi-designs. Mekhela Chador By Sanjukta Dutta showed us that this design style is hot and happening!

As the sari had a raja and rani theme, for jewellery we opted for a classic lime green and clear stone choker and kaan chain earrings, paired with a deep green turtle neck crop top. Of course when the weather is warmer, it would be best to wear long/short sleeve crew neck top. For bangles we kept this to minimal with a mix of antique gold, dark red and green bangles. The sari borders and pallu are fun and fab to wear at a family or friend’s mehndi function.

In our second look we opted for an absolute unique piece! This eccentric dusty pink silk sari is three-dimensional, with hand-embroidered floral motifs by Ka-Sha and it is like nothing I have seen before. I first set eyes on this sari at S9 Muses Launch Party and have never forgotten about it since then; it was indeed love at first sight!  I matched up this sari with a clear stone silver choker and white ribbed crop top to a add different texture to the look. This is one hell of a sleek and sizzling sari, certainly a number for a wedding reception. This is so lightweight, you would not have any excuses not to dance the night away! Pink is on the colour radar in the western world this year and so is minimalist fashion, this Ka-Sha sari is the answer to both.
